Sandy's Visit To Wilson County - November 1st through 3rd 2005 
           Special arrangement by Representative Stratton Bone and Dr. Jefferson Chapman, the 
           McClung Museum Director, sixth five years after he left, one of the oldest and most  famous
          Wilson  County prehistoric works of art returned home to its native soil for a three day visit. 
           The exhibit opened November 1st with a special ceremony by  the sponsors. During the 
           three day stay more than 1,200 visitor's viewed the male and female prehistoric stone statues 
           that were on on display at the Wilson County Courthouse Lebanon, Tennessee.

           State Parks. 

Stories of the Ancient Ones - September 25th
        Take a walk with a ranger see the village and mound site and learn about the Mississippian 
           Native American Culture.

4th Annual Native American Day  - September 10, 2005
            A 1-5 p.m. event featuring guided walks, Native American tool demonstrations, storytelling 
            and pottery.

Stories of the Ancient Ones - May 13 & 22, 2005 
        Take a walk with a ranger see the village and mound site and learn about the Mississippian 
           Native American Culture.

Cedar Tree Award
           The Lebanon/Wilson Chamber of Commerce presented their 2004 Cedar Tree Award  to Sellars 
           Farm for its beautification of a site of heritage importance to Lebanon. Representing the Sellars
           Farm Site at the annual Chamber Awards Dinner on February 10, 2005 were Thurman Mullins, Park
           Manager and Friends of Sellars Farm, Jack Cato and James Miller.

          Friends of Sellars Farm State Archaeological Area relies solely on the support of the 
             community, businesses and people like you. You can get involved and work with 
             others who share your love of nature, Native American culture and belief in the 
             preservation of this special place known as Sellars Farm State Archaeological Area.

Then and Now
          Since 2001, the Friends of the Sellars Farm State Archaeological Area in addition to their 
          educational activities, tours and promotion, have cleared plant growth and trees from strategic
          areas of the Sellars Village and Mound site. Volunteers continued to play a critical role in preserving 
          this prehistoric treasure.

"EGAT'S BASKET" Egat's Basket
            Written by Donna Macon, one of the founding members of the Friends of the Sellars
            Farm, "Egat's Basket" was read to the public for the very first time at the TAAW 2003
            Tour on the banks of Spring Creek. Set at the Sellars Farm site around the year 1300 A.D.,
            the story is about two children, Poku and Tac, of the mound builder village who learn the
            history of their village through the stories of their Grandmother Ki. 
            (Reading level is third grade and up)
